The developer of Charlemont Rise has been forced to change the name of Lan­naster Rd after a complaint from a neighbouring estate in the Armstrong Creek growth area.
Project manager Gary Smith said he had to change the name to Precinct Rd after the complaint because the planned name made reference to a brother and sister in the series, Cersei and Jaime Lannister, who are romantically involved.
“They objected to that fact that it had a reference to ­incest ... it’s a fictional series,” Mr Smith said. He said he had even changed the spelling from Lannister to Lannaster to not make it as obvious.
However, there have been no complaints yet about the other street names in the ­estate and the majority of them were inspired by characters and locations found in Game of Thrones.
For example: Catelyn Rd, Stannis St, Winterfell Rd, Greyjoy St, Baelish Drive and Tywin St.
