Melbourne Boomers have added arguably the WNBL’s most worthy recruit for a one-game contract — nine-year-old Indyanna Harper.
The bone marrow failure patient will be part of the Boomers team that takes on Canberra on Saturday week at the State Basketball Centre.
The match is backed by Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, which raises funds for and awareness of bone marrow failure.
Indyanna has aplastic anaemia, the condition that claimed the life of Maddie Riewoldt, where bone marrow stops producing enough blood cells.
The Geelong girl and her family are hopeful about the future after the hoops fan received a stem cell transplant from her elder sister.
