Hi-tech heels engineered by Lady Gaga’s shoe designer could be the answer to the trackside trick of staying above grass — and wending a way through the crowds to the betting ring.
The Unpredictheel is the work of London-based Aussie designer Kira Goodey, who has shod the likes of Britney Spears and Angelina Jolie, as well as Gaga herself. It uses padding and technology to stop the heels sinking and to help navigate the event. Model and E! host, Ksenija Lukich is a big fan.
“The best thing about these shoes is that they’re quite wide at the ball and then the heel is so thick that I haven’t sunk into the grass and I don’t think I will,” Lukich said. Hi-tech features include directions to the betting ring via left/right-turn pulsing notifications in each heel, vibrations to signal a race starting and a built-in chip to e-pay for bubbly and other essentials to enjoy the day.
