The force is building in Star Wars fan Bruce Cheung.
The 24-year-old Lego fanatic has arrived on the Gold Coast from Hong Kong with a collection as large as the Empire itself.
Mr Cheung will show off a 2100-piece Lego Star Wars army at the Gold Coast Brick Event this weekend.
“I am a collector and I love the Star Wars armies,” he said.
“My end goal is to break the world record of 35,410 which was set in 2008 and while I have 5500 right now I am working to build it up.
“At my home in Hong Kong we do not have a lot of space to build things so instead I got into collecting.”
The Brick Event will be held at the Gold Coast Turf Club’s events centre from 9am-4pm today and tomorrow and will feature hundreds of displays from Lego enthusiasts.
Mr Cheung said the annual event was a highlight of the year for Lego fans.
“It is amazing to see the displays and great to meet people and trade pieces with them,” he said. “I hope the crowd will be impressed by my armies; it is rare you get to see something like this.”
