A young Melbourne woman left paraplegic after attempting to take her own life has encouraged others to never give up.
Ashlee Murrell, 26, has spent the past six months in rehabilitation, learning to live independently again.
She suffered extensive back injuries, spinal cord damage, several broken ribs and a punctured lung as a result of her fall in July last year.
Ms Murrell is now coming to terms with the reality she will live the rest of her adult life as a paraplegic.
The experienced hairdresser said if she could wind back the clock she would “change things” and has encouraged others to never give up hope of a better future.
“Don’t ever give up,” she said.
