Drivers on the Channel Highway may have noticed an increase of scarecrows in the area lately and there is a very good reason for it.
Preparations for the Middleton Country Fair on Saturday are almost complete and in the lead-up scarecrows have started popping up along the Channel Highway as part of 26-year-old competition.
The winners are chosen by public vote during the event, which has raised thousands of dollars for community projects during the past two decades.
