Alison Huveneers has spent the past six years lovingly caring for her pet miniature pig “Bacon”.
But Bacon now faces getting the chop from his Christies Beach home, unless Mrs Huveneers can secure council approval to keep her pet.
Mrs Huveneers has had Bacon since 2012, taking him for beach walks and turning him into a local celebrity.
However, Onkaparinga Council last month told her she needed to lodge a development application to keep Bacon at her home. “The development application is the process to keep him and, if we can’t, I don’t know what we are going to do,” Mrs Huveneers says.
