Sam Hensman won the girl of his dreams in a wedding proposal with a smile from his hospital bed.
Now he’s determined to say his vows and walk back down the aisle with the girl of his dreams, Tess Delony, when they wed. Miss Delony yesterday said wedding plans had to be distant on their minds as they first focused on Mr Hensman’s continued recovery.
“Obviously with the engagement there will also be a wedding on the cards eventually,” she said.
“I know that Sam would really love to be able to say his vows and to walk back down the aisle, so I’d like to wait a little while to give him the opportunity. I think focusing all of our time and energy on rehabilitating Sam is the most important thing right now, so we’ll take things as they come.”
The young couple proved that true love conquers all when news of their engagement emerged last month. Unable to talk, he popped the question to his girlfriend with a smile after she had stayed by his hospital bedside while he underwent a series of operations for a rare brain disorder.
