Street vandals have collected dumped oBikes from Melbourne’s controversial share scheme and strapped them to an inner-city wall in the name of art.
The Fitzroy mural is the latest discovery of misuse in the city’s oBike saga, which has seen bikes thrown up trees, dumped in bins and even chucked in the Yarra River.
The mural, constructed on Kerr St yesterday, is made up of about a dozen bikes
A local told the Herald Sun it was an inventive use for the bikes.
“I’ve seen these bikes everywhere — even dumped in the Yarra. This is much better,” he said.
