A growing number of mums are turning to goat’s milk formula for their babies.
Annual sales in Australia have risen from about $3 million to $105 million in four years, according to Nielsen and IMS Health data.
Ben Dingle, chief executive of Nuchev which makes the Oli6 brand, said goat’s milk had “many unique properties” and promoted gut health and digestion. The category now comprised almost 10 per cent of the nation’s overall infant formula market.
Mother Emma Bowler recently switched to goat’s milk formula for six-month-old daughter Kelsey.
“She had a lot of colic and reflux and was getting a lot of wind so I wanted to find a formula that was gentle on her tummy,” Mrs Bowler said. “Since the change there have been no issues.”
