A dancing duo are hoping to sway a buyer with their unique ballroom home hitting the market for $1.275 million.
Mark and Brenda Francis have lived in their Helensvale home for the past 21 years and hosted some of Australia’s champion ballroom dancers on the $50,000 floors of their dance studio. Their property at 4 Colo Court is listed as a “large family home with a surprise package” by Ray White Paradise Point agent Rhonda Gunn.
The 4311sq m block has a five-bedroom house and a custom-made dance hall decked out with mirrors, lighting and timber flooring.
Mr Francis said he built the ballroom for his wife three years ago. “Our old neighbour was a dance teacher and had a similar studio on his block but after he moved we realised we needed a purpose-built studio of our own,” Mr Francis said.
“The neighbour’s studio was converted by the new owners and we were inspired by the flexibility of the building.”
Mr Francis said the pair spent most evenings dancing in the studio.
