They may be tiny handheld gadgets, but fidget spinners are huge.
The swirling devices have spun tornado-like into the lives of young Tasmanians, becoming a must-have sensation in a matter of weeks.
Discount Tasmanian retailer Shiploads sold out of 1000 fidget spinners within a day of stocking the gadgets last week and is restocking shelves with 60,000 more to meet demand.
Plato’s toy and games store has sold out twice since it started stocking fidget spinners five weeks ago.
Plato’s owner Kellie Rathbone said the demand was amazing.
“It’s selling 10-times faster than our next best seller, it’s the latest craze,” she said.
