It's a scene that plays out in nightclubs and pubs across the Territory every night — two blokes locked in combat while a lady watches on, uninterested.
But the combatants in this fight for love were pythons and instead of Mitchell St, their arena was restaurant Pee Wee’s at the Point.
Pee Wee’s marketing manager Irma Miller said about 100 diners were captivated by the display, which took place at the restaurant’s shed on Tuesday night.
“Every customer went into the shed; we were acting like tour guides,” she said.
Tourists posed for pictures with the two pythons on the floor, while a third snake watched on from above in the shed’s rafters.
“I’d never seen anything like it; it was magical and beautiful,” Ms Miller said.
Warm weather is thought to have brought a surge in snake sightings and bites in the Top End.
