A Current Affair reporter Ben ­McCormack has been suspended from work after being charged with sending child pornography.
The Nine Network was thrown into turmoil yesterday after its Sydney studios were raided by police, who allege McCormack, 42, was engaged in sexually explicit conversations about child pornography with another man.
Detectives from the Sex Crimes Squad, specialising in child exploitation, searched the reporter’s Alexandria unit and raided Nine’s production ­offices in Willoughby. They seized computers, a mobile phone and electronic storage devices.
The police began investigating the reporter after a tip-off by a joint agency responsible for tackling crimes against children.
