Lord Mayor Clover Moore’s City of Sydney has been accused of holding an elderly resident to “ransom” after he was ordered to ­repaint his Redfern home because council killjoys said the colour blue was banned.
Despite owning his Douglas St terrace since 1955, 90-year-old Charles Abdullah was ordered to repaint his home or face legal action ­because City of Sydney council deemed it a shade of “non-approved” blue.
