Vegie grower Shane Newitt has done it again. He’s outgrown his own record for Tasmania’s biggest pumpkin with this 424.5kg beauty.
The Sorell farmer, who has been growing pumpkins for four years, took first place at this year’s 116th Bream Creek Show in front of an admiring crowd.
He has won the title twice before, with a 422.5kg pumpkin in 2014-2015 and a 305kg specimen in 2013-2014. Last year he had a blowout when his pumpkin over-heated.
