It was back to reality for cricket hero Mickey Edwards this week – selling swimmers.
The 22-year-old, who became a sporting hero when he was a replacement fielder for Australia in the third Test against Pakistan at the SCG, was at work at Budgy Smuggler’s summer pop-up store in Manly.
Edwards, from Allambie Heights, has worked for the company for two years.
He was enjoying his new-found fame.
“People have asked for photos – I’m like, ‘why do you want a photo with me?’?” he said.
Edwards, who lives at home with mum Sarah and dad Phil, said appearing on Sunrise had been the highlight of the experience.
Edwards, who plays for Manly in the Sydney Grade Cricket competition, will sail down the rankings this weekend when he plays in the fifth grade to fill in.
