The St Helens boat ramp has claimed another four-wheeled victim, with a Holden sedan sinking to a watery grave at the Rippleside site on Monday.
Shocked owners watched on helplessly as their car slid into the surprisingly clear waters of Corio Bay after a suspected handbrake issue.
A witness said one owner tried to jump into the driver’s seat and start the car as it was rolling into the drink.
But it was too late.
Police attended the scene and taped off the area.
The accident is only a month after fishermen found a white Hyundai i30 underwater at the same boat ramp.
