The sky might be the limit but pilot Paul Bennet doesn’t mind putting that theory to the test.
The 43-year-old has been wowing crowds at airshows around the world for more than a decade and says nothing quite beats a flying display over Aussie soil.
Flanked by wingmen Glenn Graham and Ben Lappin, Mr Bennet will be among the pilots to pull off mind-blowing stunts during the Australian International Airshow at Avalon.
“Adrenaline junkies love motorbikes and cars ... that’s fun,’’ Mr Bennet said.
“But when you can make it three-dimensional — there’s not much that compares.’’
The father of three said the risk involved in stunt flying was obvious but his team looked out for each other. “We know when we are having a bad day ... you need to be in the right frame of mind up there. But we understand each other. That’s the great thing about working as a team.’’
Sol, a German shepherd pup and member of the RAAF Security and Fire School, avoided the aerial dogfights, lapping up the view from the cockpit of a C-17A Globemaster III cargo jet.
