Arctic explorer and Melbourne schoolgirl Jade Hameister has skied into the history books once again after she became the youngest woman to complete the Greenland crossing this week, aged just 15.
The 540km crossing took 27 gruelling days.
“It’s still sinking in that I’ve actually done it,” Jade said. “It’s surreal.”
Jade is no stranger to record breaking. Last year at just 14, she became the youngest person to ski to the North Pole from anywhere outside the last degree.
But she’s not done yet.
The Hampton teenager is on track to achieve her ultimate goal of becoming the youngest person to complete the polar hat-trick: the North Pole, Greenland crossing and South Pole.
