A Geelong vet clinic has used 31-year-old frozen dog sperm to produce nine great dane puppies. Ballarat dog breeder Deidre McRae had frozen and stored sperm from one of her prized great danes, Liebendane Armstrong, in 1989. More than three decades later, the dog’s sperm has been used to spawn the nine new pups (above). The semen was used in an insemination conducted last September at the Bellarine Veterinary Practice, with mum Lulu becoming pregnant and delivering the nine pups in November.
