Meet Baby Beetson – the grandson of an Immortal who seems to have inherited his impressive rugby league skills.
Billy Beetson, 7, is already following in the footsteps of his late grandfather - Maroons legend Arthur “Artie” Beetson – wearing the same Roosters red, white and blue while playing for Eastern Suburbs under-10s representative touch team in Sydney.
“Every day I look at Billy, it’s almost like seeing a reincarnation of our father,” Billy’s dad Mark Beetson said. “Dad, when he was younger, he had blond hair.”
Although a baby when his “Poppy” died in 2011, Billy has seen video of him in action.
“My Poppy was the best footy player there was,” Billy said. “I will play footy as I get older, not touch.”
Arthur was inducted into the Immortals in 2004 but died in 2011.
