Jason Donovan is an Australian actor and singer, best known for his role on the television soap, 'Neighbours'. He was born on June 1, 1968 in Malvern, Melbourne and attended De La Salle College. Donovan made his first television appearance at age 11 in a guest role on the Australian series 'Skyways' in 1980. In 1986 Donovan joined the cast of television soap, 'Neighbours', starring alongside Kylie Minogue. While he was still appearing in 'Neighbours', Donovan signed a recording contract with Mushroom Records in Australia, and with PWL in the UK. He released a series of successful singles, including 'Nothing Can Divide Us', 'Especially for You' and 'Too Many Broken Hearts'. Between 1988 and 1992, Donovan garnered sixteen Top 40 hit singles in the UK. Donovan continued to act alongside his pop career, and in 1990 he appeared in his first feature film, 'Blood Oath'. In the 1990s, Donovan began a career in stage musicals, accepting the lead role in the restaged London Palladium version of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat', and touring with the UK production of ‘The Rocky Horror Show’. In 2008 Donovan’s career was revitalised after taking part in reality television series, ‘I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!’ That same year he released his first solo album in 15 years, ‘Let It Be Me’, which reached No. 28 in Britain. In 2015 he took part in the documentary special, 'Neighbours 30th: The Stars Reunite'.
